John Willett~ June 16, 1950 - Sept 2, 2013 ~
It is with great sadness that the Powerhouse Band announces the passingof trumpet/flute/lead vocalist John Willett, following a short but courageousbattle with pancreatic and liver cancer. John was the driving force behindthe formation of the band in the mid 80’s and was the only member to bewith the band from the start to his last show earlier this year. We will missJohn’s larger-than-life stage presence and the energy he brought to theband from his great love of performing music. The band, understandably, will be taking some time off live performances while we grieve the loss ofour good friend and brother. The Powerhouse Band – September 2, 2013
It is with extreme sadness that we announce thepassing of our dear friend, bandmate and lastfounding member of the original POWERHOUSEband, trombone/keys Don Berryman, following acourageous battle with cancer. Don`s dedication tothe band and the music was unparrelled. When hehung up his horn in 2014, he played keyboards, mandolin and classical guitar in the band. Hewould learn and do anything that was required for asong. He was responsible for many of the hornarrangements and the keeper of the records! Inaddition to his musical talents, as the webmaster forthe band, Don’s flare for storytelling and dedicationto the pictorial logging of the bands’ shows andhistory will be greatly missed. This fan site carriesmemories of 30 years of his love and dedication tothe music. R.I.P. BrotherThe POWERHOUSE Band -- May 12, 2017
DON BERRYMAN ~ October 1, 1950 - May 12, 2017 ~
After a lengthy battle with lung cancer, POWERHOUSE saysgoodbye to longstanding guitarist, Phil Kott on November 21st,2011. Except for a brief hiatus, Phil was the guitar sound fromthe beginning. He was the tone master and soul of the R&Band motown in Powerhouse, his dream band. Loved by allwho knew him and never forgotten. The Powerhouse Band - November 21st, 2011
