John Willett

It is with great sadness that the Powerhouse Band announces the passing
of trumpet/flute/lead vocalist John Willett, following a short but courageous
battle with pancreatic and liver cancer. John was the driving force behind
the formation of the band in the mid 80’s and was the only member to be
with the band from the start to his last show earlier this year. We will miss
John’s larger-than-life stage presence and the energy he brought to the
band from his great love of performing music. The band, understandably,
will be taking some time off live performances while we grieve the loss of
our good friend and brother.

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the
passing of our dear friend, bandmate and last
founding member of the original POWERHOUSE
band, trombone/keys Don Berryman, following a
courageous battle with cancer. Don`s dedication to
the band and the music was unparrelled. When he
hung up his horn in 2014, he played keyboards,
mandolin and classical guitar in the band. He
would learn and do anything that was required for a
song. He was responsible for many of the horn
arrangements and the keeper of the records! In
addition to his musical talents, as the webmaster for
the band, Don’s flare for storytelling and dedication
to the pictorial logging of the bands’ shows and
history will be greatly missed. This fan site carries
memories of 30 years of his love and dedication to
the music. R.I.P. Brother

After a lengthy battle with lung cancer, POWERHOUSE says
goodbye to longstanding guitarist, Phil Kott on November 21st,
2011. Except for a brief hiatus, Phil was the guitar sound from
the beginning. He was the tone master and soul of the R&B
and motown in Powerhouse, his dream band. Loved by all
who knew him and never forgotten.
